Tales from the pits: Springfield ST/TT

ST
In the morning I was hard on myself, but I needed to remember it’s my first year on my 85, and I’m used to only riding blue groove. Seeing the other kids with their race teams made me feel like I was not going to do good.
In the heats, the bike felt good with my Beaver Cycle gearing set up. The kids were way faster than what I’m used to. I took 3rd in 85cc and 7th in Premier Youth.
In my mains, I took two 5th places. I was super happy, because I started on the second row for both my mains. I’m nervous for tomorrows TT but Nick Daniels and Lee Snelson helped my mom figure stuff out.

TT
In the morning during riders meeting, Corey Texter and Jared Mees had officers at the riders meeting talking about all the pit riding stuff that happened the night before. They said they would impound bikes if they were caught.
I was excited to use my new ASV front break lever, because if I went down it would just bend forward instead of breaking. In practice I was having trouble with the track but it’s fine, because it’s my first TT on this bike. In heats I took 9th in 85 and 4th in premier youth.

Going into mains, I knew I had friends watching me from back home so I wanted to put on a show. Halfway through both races, I realized I wasn’t going to place top three so I started throwing no footers over the jump in both my mains. Hoping my friends would see. In the end I ended up with a 7th and 9th place.
When we got home Saturday, I decided not to race my supermoto race Sunday at RoadAmerica because my grandpa was in the hospital. When I got back from Springfield and I wanted to spend time with him.
